Monmouth VINELink Custody Coverage
New Jersey VINE is the statewide custody-information and notification service accessed through VINELink. Its feeds cover people in New Jersey county jails and state correctional facilities. That includes MCCI and NJDOC custody. A person held only in a Monmouth municipal police cell may move to court, MCCI, or release before a VINE record is useful, so the arresting department and court remain important.
VINE does not cover BOP, U.S. Marshals Service, or ICE custody. A person transferred from MCCI to one of those systems has not necessarily returned to the community. Federal Bureau custody belongs in the BOP locator. ICE uses its own detainee locator. USMS status may require the federal docket, counsel, the district office, or the actual holding facility.
MCCI publishes New Jersey VINE’s telephone route, 1-877-846-3465. The system supports custody checks and notifications through the web, phone, and app, with text, email, and TTY channels available as offered. Registration is confidential and free.
Search Monmouth Inmates on VINELink
Open the live service and search only one person at a time. The exact controls can change, so use the identifiers offered in the interface. A common name is not enough. Compare the available ID, facility, and other details before treating a result as a match.
- Open VINELink and select New Jersey as the custody system.
- Choose the offender or custody search, then enter the person’s full name or identifying number accepted by the live form.
- Review all possible matches. Use the facility, offender ID, and any other displayed identifiers to separate people with similar names.
- Open the matching record and read the stated status and location. Do not infer a court outcome from the custody display.
- If the person is still held, register for each wanted notification channel before the release or transfer occurs.
- If no result appears, call MCCI and check NJDOC or the next custody system. Absence alone proves nothing.

Monmouth VINELink Result Fields
A VINE record is a status snapshot from a participating facility. The current official brochure says VINE provides information on people in custody. A custody-change or release alert reflects the facility feed when the event is reported. It is useful near the event, but it is not the same as MCCI’s signed release record, an NJDOC incarceration history, or a court judgment.

Register Monmouth Release Notifications
Register while the correct person remains in custody. New Jersey’s enhanced VINE instructions treat each delivery method as a separate registration. Selecting phone does not automatically add text or email. Automated calls can arrive at any hour, so the phone PIN should be memorable to the registrant and kept private.
- Open the matched custody record and choose registration for the event or events offered.
- Select each delivery channel separately, such as telephone, text, email, mobile app, or TTY.
- Enter current contact information only in the secure registration flow. Do not share it in a public screenshot or message.
- For telephone alerts, create a four-digit PIN. Store it privately.
- When an automated call arrives, listen to the event message and enter the PIN followed by the pound key.
- Update the registration if the phone number or email changes, and keep direct agency contacts available as a backup.
The PIN acknowledges receipt and stops repeat phone calls for that event. It does not unlock a public offender record. Registration also does not enroll a person in the State Parole Board’s separate victim-input process.

Monmouth County VINE History
Monmouth County has a notable place in the state system’s history. A New Jersey Attorney General announcement identified Monmouth as one of the first four counties using VINE in 1998. That early adoption helps explain why the service is an established local fallback when the Sheriff’s web inmate search is unavailable.
The history does not change present verification rules. Modern searches and registrations must follow the live statewide interface and current brochure. A Monmouth VINE event should still be reconciled with MCCI, NJDOC, and the related court record when the exact type of movement matters. Monmouth VINE Phone and TTY
The web interface is not the only access route. New Jersey VINE can be reached at 1-877-846-3465, and the TTY number is 1-866-847-1298. MCCI publishes the main VINE number on its corrections information. Operators can support the custody and registration process, but they do not replace the jail records custodian or the court.
A phone search still requires a careful identity match. Keep the full name and any known offender or booking identifier ready. If a phone alert is registered, the four-digit PIN confirms receipt when followed by the pound key. The PIN should never be placed in a message, public filing, or screenshot.
Multiple delivery channels create useful backups, but each must be registered separately. A text registration does not automatically create an email registration, and a telephone entry does not enroll the app. If contact information changes, update the registration while the person is still shown in custody. An old number can cause a missed alert even when the facility feed is correct.
Monmouth Release Versus Transfer Alerts
The alert language matters. A release event reports an exit from the participating facility’s custody. A transfer reports movement to another facility or agency. Neither message, by itself, supplies a full legal disposition or guarantees where the person is now. MCCI houses a mixed population, so departure can lead to the community, NJDOC, another jail, or a federal system.
For state custody, NJDOC’s Date Out-of-Custody is the historical field that confirms the recorded exit. Current Max Release Date and Current Parole Eligibility Date are future calculations, not completed-release fields. For a county event, ask MCCI whether the releasable status is release or transfer and request the booking-and-release transaction through MCSO OPRA when a durable record is needed.
A court result completes the picture. A dismissal, pretrial release order, time-served judgment, probation term, or state-prison sentence may explain why the person moved. VINE does not display that legal analysis. Municipal matters and indictable Superior Court cases also use different court paths, so follow the case number to the tribunal that handled it.
Monmouth VINELink Check Limits
VINE is not a complete historical archive. A later no-result can stem from a release, transfer, spelling difference, restricted or juvenile record, data timing, or custody outside the participating network. It also cannot confirm a home address, court disposition, probation status, assigned parole officer, or completion of every sentence term.
Use MCCI at 732-431-7860 for a narrow county custody question. Use NJDOC’s detailed record for a state commitment and its Date Out-of-Custody. Check the related New Jersey court case for the order or sentence that explains the movement. If federal or immigration custody is plausible, change systems instead of repeatedly searching VINE.
Timing can matter. An alert is automated from agency data and can lag the real-world event. For an exact release time, disposition code, or receiving agency, request the responsible agency’s dated record. New Jersey VINE should be one part of that chain, not its sole proof.
If the last known place was MCCI, the practical order is MCCI and VINE, then NJDOC, the court case, and federal or immigration systems when facts support those checks. If the last known place was state prison, start with NJDOC and use VINE as the alert layer. This order prevents a current-custody search from being mistaken for a complete record of a Monmouth County release.
